Port Discover’s Robotics Club is sponsoring a field trip on Saturday, February 3rd for students and parents interested in seeing the 2017-18 Virginia State VEX Robotics competition in Portsmouth, VA. The competition will take place at:

Woodrow Wilson High School

1401 Elmhurst Lane

Portsmouth, Virginia 23701

Anyone can attend. The event is open to the public. No prior experience in robotics is required!

This event is free! (Bus transportation is sponsored by a grant from the Burroughs Wellcome Fund) A NEAAAT activity bus will be used, and will leave from Port Discover (611 E. Main St, in downtown Elizabeth City) at 7:30 AM, and return around 5:30 PM. Lunch will be provided at no charge. Students are encouraged to also bring along any additional snacks and drinks they may want for the afternoon.

Families can also feel free to drive to the competition on your own. Port Discover is simply offering bus transportation for convenience.

Seating on the bus is limited. It is first come, first serve, so sign up as soon as possible! Please complete the linked permission slip with a parent or guardian’s signature and return to Port Discover no later than Wednesday, January 31st.
